Xiaomi had introduced its new flagship, the Xiaomi Mi 6, last week, and more than one of its variants will be available in limited quantities it seems. The Xiaomi Mi 6 was announced in several color variants, Black, Blue, White and Silver, while the Ceramic variant of the phone was also announced by the company. Now, we knew that the Silver Edition of the phone will be available in limited quantities, considering Xiaomi said that during the press conference, but it seems like the Ceramic variant of the phone will also be rather hard to get, read on.
According to Pan Jiutang, a China-based industry analysts, Ceramic Xiaomi Mi 6 will be really hard to get, at least at first. The phone will be available in limited quantities due to the low capacity of ceramic CNC machining, which will limit the amount of curved ceramic back cover which are used on the back of the ceramic variant of the Xiaomi Mi 6. The source also mentioned that Xiaomi’s suppliers are trying to increase the number of ceramic CNC machines which are producing such back covers for the Xiaomi Mi 6, so they should be able to produce enough Ceramic Xiaomi Mi 6 devices in the near future, but at first, the phone will be really hard to get. The Xiaomi Mi 6 Ceramic is priced at 2,999 Yuan ($435) in China, and it comes with 128GB of native storage only, so the 64GB storage variant is not available for this special edition handset. That being said, the regular Xiaomi Mi 6 comes in both 64GB and 128GB storage variants, and it costs 2,499 Yuan and 2,899 Yuan, respectively. According to TENAA, Xiaomi will introduce some additional color variants of the Xiaomi Mi 6 in the coming months, so the aforementioned variants will not be the only one that you’ll be able to buy.
The first Xiaomi Mi 6 flash sale will be held this Friday in China, and the phone will become available outside the company’s homeland in the near future, but Xiaomi failed to give us a specific date when that might happen.
