Orico Outs Massive 100,000mAh MOUPS Power Bank

Chinese consumer electronics company Orico recently took the veil off a new power bank dubbed the Orico MOUPS. It comes in two different capacities, both large enough to provide dozens of full charges to smartphones and even smaller power banks. In fact, the Orico MOUPS units are powerful enough to be used as portable uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) for radios, TVs, notebooks and other similar devices, the company claims.

The Orico MOUPS is available in two variants, one housing a 50,000mAh battery set and the other boasting a capacity of 100,000mAh. They have a maximum power output of up to 18W with Quick Charge 3.0 support and both feature 220V AC and 12V/19V DC outlets as well as four USB ports, giving users the option to recharge small consumer electronics devices or use the MOUPS as a UPC for more power-hungry electronics. The units encapsulate batteries supplied by Panasonic, Samsung SDI, and LG Chem, and they can both be acquired alongside an optional 36W solar charging board which can be used for recharging the units while using them outdoors. Furthermore, the Orico MOUPS features a series of LED lights that can be used as a flashlight. As for the MOUPS’ design, this is clearly not a power bank designed to fit in one’s pockets, but then again, this is not a conventional power bank in the first place but was instead meant to serve as a traveler’s pack and it most likely carries some weight given its large battery capacity, though it also comes with a strap that should facilitate carrying and handling.

The 50,000mAh Orico MOUPS is accompanied by a price tag of 1,299 Chinese yuan which translates to roughly $188 at today’s conversion rate, whereas the larger 100,000mAh power bank costs 1,999 yuan ($290), offering more capacity for your money compared to its smaller sibling, as well as numerous other power banks on the market. Lastly, users who may want to use the Orico MOUPS while camping or being engaged in other outdoors activities can buy the optional 36W solar charging panel for 500 yuan, i.e. approximately $72. There’s still no word regarding the availability of this accessory, so it remains to be seen whether Orico has any plans for launching MOUPS outside of China.
