The Vivo V5 and V5 Plus smartphones were introduced back in November last year, and the company has just announced the Vivo V5s in India. This is the company’s selfie phone, and it follows the Vivo V5’s lead which also came to India. The Vivo V5s is a metal-clad smartphone which sports a front-facing fingerprint scanner, while its power / lock, volume up and volume down keys are placed on the right. That being said, let’s take a closer look at the phone’s specifications, shall we.
The Vivo V5s sports a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. The phone is fueled by MediaTek’s MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor, and come with the Mali T860 GPU for graphics. This phone packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage, while it also comes with a hybrid dual SIM setup (micro + nano SIM). A 13-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture, PDAF) can be found on the back of this phone, along with the device’s LED flash. A 20-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens), on the other hand, is placed on the front side of the device, and we’re looking at Sony’s IMX376 sensor here. A 3,000mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable, in case you were wondering. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Vivo V5s, and on top of it, you’re getting the company’s Funtouch OS 3.0 skin. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also a part of the offering, and a custom AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip is also included. The phone measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55mm, while it weighs 154 grams.
The Vivo V5s comes in Matte Black and Crown Gold color variants to India, and it costs Rs. 18,990. The phone is not yet available for purchase, but it will become available for pre-order starting today. The Matte Black variant of the phone will be available for purchase on May 6, while the Crown Gold model won’t go on sale until May 20.
