OnePlus 5 May Launch On June 15, Internal Email Hints

OnePlus had confirmed a while back that the OnePlus 5 will arrive this summer, and an internal e-mail just surfaced, hinting that the device may arrive on June 15. Now, there’s no way we can verify that this email is legit, so take this info with a grain of salt, but the timeframe certainly fits the bill. The OnePlus 3 was announced back in June, so many people are expecting the OnePlus 5 to arrive next month, and June 15 might as well be the phone’s release date. In any case, if you’d like to take a look at the leaked email, a screenshot is available below this article, though the email itself is in Chinese, so it probably won’t mean much to most of you.

Having said that, we already have quite a bit of info when it comes to the OnePlus 5. The company had confirmed that the phone will sport a front-facing fingerprint scanner, and that it will ship with a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC will be in charge of fueling this smartphone. OnePlus actually hinted that the 3.5mm headphone jack will be included on top of the device this time around, while it was placed on the bottom of the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. In addition to all this, it’s worth noting that OnePlus partnered up with DxO quite recently, and DxO is helping OnePlus improve the camera on the OnePlus 5, so we have pretty high expectations for the phone’s snapper. Speaking of which, if you’d like to participate in OnePlus’ camera contest and get a chance to review the OnePlus 5, click here to get more info.

The OnePlus 5 will probably be made out of metal, and will ship with a dual camera setup on the back. We still do not know what sensors to expect here, though, so stay tuned for that, more info will probably surface soon. The device will probably ship with 6GB of RAM, though 8GB of RAM is also a possibility at this point. Android Nougat will come pre-installed on the device, and chances are that the phone will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD or QHD AMOLED display with a flat surface. That’s pretty much all the info that we have thus far, stay tuned.
