A listing on the website of the Russian retailer Becompact reveals the pricing of the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018). According to the retailer, the entry-level handset will be priced at RUB 7,990, which translates to around $139 at the current exchange rate. Aside from the pricing, the listing includes both the images of the device and the hardware specifications of the smartphone. The photographs contained in the listing look very similar to renders that were leaked in a report earlier this month. It seems that the Galaxy J2 (2018) will still sport a 16:9 aspect ratio display and it will retain the capacitive navigation buttons and the physical home button directly below the screen. Above the display is the front-facing camera and on the back, users will find a single rear camera and the LED flash. The loudspeaker, on the other hand, is placed on the right of the camera and LED flash. A microUSB port for charging and data transfer is located on the bottom of the handset, while the 3.5mm headphone jack is placed on the top of the device.
According to the retailer’s listing, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) will be powered by the Snapdragon 425 chipset from Qualcomm. This SoC is comprised of a quad-core ARM Cortex A53 64-bit CPU with a maximum frequency of 1.4GHz and the Adreno 308 GPU. The device will contain 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage, which could be expanded by a microSD card with capacities of up to 256GB. The handset is rumored to sport a 5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 960 by 540 pixels. The rear camera of the smartphone is reported to be equipped with an 8-megapixel sensor while the front-facing shooter will come with a 5-megapixel snapper.
To keep the lights on, the Samsung Galaxy J2 (2018) will include a 2,600mAh battery. The handset can connect to 4G LTE and 3G networks, and it will support connectivity features like Bluetooth 4.2 and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. For navigational purposes, the smartphone will also feature GPS support. According to the listing, the model available from the retailer can accept two SIM cards. The listing also states that the handset weighs 135 grams, and it has a thickness of 8mm, a width of 72mm, and a length of 144mm. Earlier reports claim that the Galaxy J2 Pro (2018) will be available in gold and black color options, and it will ship with Android 7.1.1 Nougat pre-installed. However, Samsung’s proprietary skin is expected to run on top of Google’s operating system.
