Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) Appears On Official Website

The Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) has just surfaced on the company’s official website, which more or less means that it is official now. This handset had surfaced last month in renders, and it also got certified by TENAA quite recently. In any case, as you can see, the device features a single camera on the back, while an LED flash is placed next to it, while a fingerprint scanner is nowhere to be found. Huawei’s branding is present on both its back, and below the display, while all of its physical keys sit on the right. Bezels are not too thick on this phone, but they’re not exactly razor-thin either, which is not exactly a surprise considering this is a budget smartphone.

Now, along with the phone’s design, Huawei also listed the Huawei Y5 Prime’s spec sheet, well, its partial spec sheet, that is. The device features a 5.45-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display, along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). Interestingly enough, the phone’s processor is not mentioned by the company, though according to TENAA, the phone is fueled by a quad-core SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, and we’re probably looking at the Snapdragon 450 here, but nothing has been confirmed just yet. 13 and 5-megapixel cameras are included on the back of this phone, while the device comes in both single SIM (DRA-L02) and dual SIM (DRA-L22) variants. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the Huawei Y5 Prime (2018), while on top of it you’ll find Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.1 skin. A 3,020mAh battery is included in this package, in case you were wondering. This phone will be available in Black, Blue, and Gold color variants, as per the company’s official website, and the device measures 146.5 x 70.9 x 8.3mm, and it weighs 142 grams.

This handset also comes with face scanning feature, and it uses its front camera in order to do that. That is more or less all the info that Huawei shared on its website, and it’s worth saying that the company did not share any availability or pricing details when it comes to this smartphone. The Huawei Y5 Prime (2018) will probably become available for purchase in the near future though, so stay tuned for that.
