Half a dozen new renders showing what’s believed to be a relatively accurate depiction of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 9 appeared online earlier today as part of protective case listings for the upcoming Android flagship published by accessory retailer MobileFun. The company that has a long history of premature product listings it presumably puts forward as a publicity stunt is now selling Galaxy Note 9 cases starting at $11.49, with its most expensive such offerings going up to $33.49.
The images that can be seen in the gallery below are entirely in line with recent rumors and reports about the Galaxy Note 9, showing yet another device with a horizontal dual-camera setup and a repositioned fingerprint sensor that now resides below the imaging system instead of next to it. All six Olixar case listings show what appears to be a Midnight Black variant of the phablet, with one report from earlier this week suggesting Samsung will be offering five colors in total at launch. The overall look of the device is effectively identical to that of the Galaxy Note 8, with the upcoming smartphone featuring an Infinity Display panel with an elongated 18.5:9 aspect ratio which slightly curves around its long edges and is sandwiched between fairly minimal top and bottom bezels.
The South Korean original equipment manufacturer recently confirmed that the Galaxy Note 9 will be officially announced on August 9 at a new “Unpacked” event in New York City, with the main implication of the happening’s date being that the high-end smartphone will likely become available for purchase by the end of the same month. Much like the Galaxy S9 Plus, the Galaxy Note 9 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 and Samsung’s Exynos 9810 chip, depending on the region, with its base model sporting 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space expandable via a microSD card tray. A 4,000mAh battery is also said to be part of the package, together with Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.5.
