LG G7 One To Launch In Canada Next Week With Stock Android

A document from Canadian mobile carrier Fido cited by MobileSyrup seems to have shed some light on the pricing and launch details of the LG G7 One. According to the source, the smartphone is scheduled to hit the shelves in Canada on October 19 and should be offered by Fido outright for the price of $799 CAD ($616). The document also seems to reveal the suggested retail price set by the Korean OEM, specifically $775 CAD, indicating that prospective buyers outside of Canada and in the United States might have to pay around $600 for the device once it hits the shelves in their region, likely on or around the same date next week.

As far as Fido customers are concerned, the carrier will apparently offer the device for the price of $519 CAD ($400) along with a two-year Small plan, or for $499 CAD ($346) attached to a Medium plan. Lastly, customers willing to sign up for a two-year Large plan will be expected to pay $299 CAD ($230) upfront for the device. As yet it’s unclear if the LG G7 One will be picked up by carriers in the United States, but its sibling – the LG G7 ThinQ – was offered on-contract by Sprint and US Cellular earlier this summer, while the unlocked model was later introduced Stateside by B&H for $749. As an Android One smartphone powered by an earlier Snapdragon 835 chipset from Qualcomm, the LG G7 One is expected to be priced below the G7 ThinQ, which was originally shipped running Android 8.0 Oreo while concealing a newer, more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood.

Otherwise, both smartphone share a large number of similarities, including the size and resolution of the display, the front-facing camera, battery capacity, connectivity, as well as the exterior design which is nearly identical across the board, save for the branding on the back panel and the fact that the G7 ThinQ offers two main cameras instead of a single unit. In addition, the LG G7 One is expected to launch in two color options, namely New Moroccan Blue and New Aurora Black, while the G7 ThinQ offered a wider range of flavors including the two aforementioned hues along with Platinum Gray and Raspberry Rose.
