According to a new report, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note10 will not utilize the Snapdragon 855 Plus. For those of you who are not aware, Qualcomm launched a brand new version of the Snapdragon 855 a couple of days ago, the Snapdragon 855 Plus. Immediately after that, rumors started going around that the US and Chinese versions of the Galaxy Note10 may feature it, but it seems like that won’t be the case.
This information comes from WinFuture, and it applies to both the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+, both of which are expected to arrive on August 7, as the company had already scheduled a press conference.
The source also notes that the other variant of the two devices, the one that will launch in Europe and India, will be fueled by the brand new Exynos 9825 chip. This essentially means that one variant of the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ will get a performance boost from a new flagship processor, while the other will not.
Truth be said, the difference between the Exynos 9820 and 9285 is not huge, the same can be said for the Snapdragon 855 and 855 Plus, but it would sure be nice to see the latest and greatest silicon being available in both Snapdragon and Exynos variants of the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+… which, unfortunately, will not be the case, if the source is to be believed.
The Snapdragon 855 Plus offers a higher clock speed than the regular Snapdragon 855, while it also comes with a faster-running Adreno GPU. That GPU should provide around 15-percent more graphics power to the device it’s included in. The Snapdragon 855 Plus is basically the Snapdragon 855 with a small performance boost.
It’s quite obvious, at this point, that the Exynos 9825 will fuel one variant of the Galaxy Note10 and Note10+, even without the source’s report, as that variant of the phone was spotted on Geekbench quite recently. That Geekbench listing also confirmed that the Galaxy Note10 will pack in 8GB of RAM, well, at least one variant of the phone will.
The Galaxy Note10 and Note10+ will look almost the same. The Galaxy Note10+ will be larger, and it will include a 3D ToF camera on the back, but that’s pretty much it as far as design differences are concerned.
Both phones will be made out of metal and glass, while both will include a curved display. Bezels on the Galaxy Note10 series smartphones will be minimal, while both phones will include a display camera hole at the top of the display, and this time around that hole will be centered, not pushed to the side.
Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on both smartphones, with Samsung’s One UI skin on top of it. This build of One UI will be somewhat different than the one on the Galaxy S10, as it will ship with a number of S Pen-related features. Speaking of which, a brand new S Pen will also be a part of the Galaxy Note10 package, as expected, and it will be located in the same place as on the Galaxy Note9, at the bottom-right corner of the smartphone.
