Samsung officially announced that the Galaxy Note10 will be unveiled at its Unpacked event on August 7 in New York City. Which means the hype machine is now in overdrive. And today, Samsung’s Indonesia Twitter account posted a short teaser video, showing us what we can expect from the new Galaxy Note10 when it is announced in about a month.
The video isn’t long, as expected, but it does hint at even better productivity. Again, this is not surprising, seeing as the Galaxy Note has always been a productivity powerhouse. But the teaser does hint at the ability to do even more with DeX, and what could be a laptop-style dock. Similar to what Motorola did with the Atrix many years ago (it failed spectacularly though).
It does show that Samsung is not giving up on DeX just yet, which isn’t surprising. Samsung has been working on DeX for many years, and has made it easier than ever to actually use DeX. So you are able to simply plug your phone into a monitor and use it like a desktop. It’s still not perfect, or even near perfect. But for some quick computing, in which you might want a desktop, it can do the trick. And that’s because of how powerful these smartphones are now.
The teaser also shows off the S Pen, but that’s barely even a talking point here. The S Pen is what makes the Galaxy Note10 a Galaxy Note smartphone. Without the S Pen, can you even call it a “Galaxy Note”? There has been some rumors this year that the S Pen would be able to charge wirelessly, and also getting some additional functionality. Last year, it gained Bluetooth, so you could use it as a remote. Samsung is likely going to build on that functionality, making it more than just a stylus.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note10 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year, especially with Samsung launching at least two different models this year. There’s the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+. While we don’t know the confirmed specs, the biggest difference between the two will be the screen size and likely the battery. But the Galaxy Note10+ is also slated to have a few other “pro” features like a micro SD card slot and even a headphone jack. So there’s that, for those that are interested in getting the Galaxy Note10 this year.
The company has confirmed that it will be announced at its Unpacked event, which it holds twice a year (for the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphone launches). It’ll be announced in New York City once again, this time at the Barclay’s Center, like it was last year. It’ll be a pretty big venue, and Samsung is slated to launch more than just two Galaxy Note10 smartphones at this event. There’s rumors that the Galaxy Watch 2 could be coming as well as the Galaxy Tab S6. Which would line up with the Galaxy Note9 launch from last year, where the Galaxy Watch was announced. The Galaxy Tab S4 was announced a week before the event.
