The Galaxy Note10 and its brother, the Galaxy Note10+ has been getting plenty of leaks and rumors over the past few weeks, as we inch closer to its unveiling on August 7. Now, we have a new leak, which doesn’t really give us a lot of new information, but it does also essentially confirm what was said in the leak from yesterday.
This comes from the YouTube channel, FrontPageTech, which has been pretty accurate with leaks like this in the past – especially about the Pixel 3 last year – so there is reason to believe that this is all true.
There will be two Galaxy Note10’s as expected, a smaller Galaxy Note10 and then a larger Galaxy Note10+. The smaller one gets a 6.3-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, no headphone jack, no micro SD card slot, and it also has a 3600mAh capacity battery. While the larger one has a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, a micro SD card slot, and a 4300mAh capacity battery. Otherwise these two devices are identical.
That includes the Snapdragon 855+ in most countries, and the Exynos 9825 in Europe. There will also be 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage on both. But the Galaxy Note10+ is going to get an option for 12GB of RAM as well.
The leak also points to some new features for the S-Pen, though they are still pretty vague. Apparently, the S-Pen is going to be getting some Air Gestures. Which should sound familiar, if you’ve been using Samsung phones for quite some time. These were popular around the Galaxy Note4 time, and were gestures that you could use with the S-Pen above the display. As mentioned, this was pretty vague, and not a whole lot of details were given about these new features.
Given the fact that ASUS got its hands on a 120Hz OLED display for its ROG Phone II that was announced yesterday, one might be a bit surprise that Samsung is not putting that on the Galaxy Note10 or Galaxy Note10+. And it’s likely because these are not going to be gaming-focused smartphones. Instead, these are sticking with 60Hz displays, which will likely still be the best displays ever on a smartphone. As Samsung does with pretty much every flagship smartphone that it puts out.
There’s not much else that’s left to be announced, about the Galaxy Note10 smartphones, but Samsung always has something up its sleeve for the actual launch event. While one might think that these are controlled leaks, in order to drum up hype, it likely is partially that and also partially those inside Samsung and its partners that are leaking to members of the press. Either way, we’ll find out everything that there is to know about the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10+ at its Unpacked event in New York City on August 7. There’s not much time to wait now, about two weeks, and all will be known. Samsung is also slated to announce a few other products at this event, like the Galaxy Watch Active2 and Galaxy Tab S6.
