Leaks of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ are ramping up in the lead-up to the launch event and that now includes a new promo image for the two flagships. Shared on Twitter by Ishan Agarwal, the new media effectively shows the two devices stacked for apparent size comparison.
The image doesn’t show any everyday objects that would give any indication as to how large the phones are but do showcase how they compare to one another. The smaller Samsung Galaxy Note 10 rests on top of the ‘Plus’.
It also highlights a couple of more subtle changes to the shape of Samsung’s phablet, if accurate. The previous Note-branded device, as well as other Samsung handsets have all kept a relatively square edge at the top and bottom. Traditionally, the left and right edges have typically held a square-shape to accommodate buttons.
In the promotional render, an almost top-down view is provided that showcases an almost perfectly round edge, instead. The beveled portions on the top and bottom edge of current devices have been eliminated too. In place of that, Samsung seems to have smoothed out the curve to match the side edges.
Previous leaks about S Pen colors might have been wrong
Other details from leaked renders appear to hold true with the new image with one noteworthy exception.
Now, all of the buttons are along the left-hand edge and there is almost no bezel to speak of. The device pictured also seems to be of the white variants of the device, while the S Pen is pictured in a color outed in other leaks as “Aura Blue.”
That all matches up well with previous renders. The easy-to-miss difference here is actually in the stylus.
In earlier images, the click-enabled back end of the stylus has been shown with a silver color, accenting the blue tone. In the new image, the S Pen is blue from tip to tip. That includes the “clicky” side of the pen.
Since renders that have been seen are purportedly accurate and official, several questions are raised and not least of those is whether or not multiple color configurations will be present for the stylus, depending on the model and version that’s purchased.
The important details
Samsung will be unveiling its Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ at its annual hardware event this week, on August 7, with availability expected to start just ahead of IFA 2019. The two devices are expected to be priced as high as $1,100 to $1,200 in the US.
With the launch so close it won’t be too long before rumored details about the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and its larger sibling are confirmed or rebutted. By all accounts so far, the two devices will follow their predecessors in resembling this year’s Samsung Galaxy S10+ flagship more than last year’s Galaxy Note 9.
The devices will reportedly ship with a nearly-identical camera setup to the ‘S’ series, laid out vertically instead of horizontally this time around. It will also incorporate a Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The biggest improvements will be to the battery, with the capacity expected to reach as much as 4,500 mAh in the larger phone.
