Reelgood has just released its Roku Remote app for Android, and it’s now available in the Play Store.
This app is going to allow you to find something to watch on your Roku, without having to go through all of the menus on your Roku.
The app is actually really simple, and it’s something that Roku should have released a while ago, to be quite honest.
Here’s how the app works
Basically, on Reelgood, you’ll select the streaming services that you are subscribed too.
Then you will search and browse all of the content on those services, so you can choose your next show or movie to watch.
You can find something to watch with filters, recommendations and much more. You’ll be able to play it directly on your Roku with just a single tap.
Now, to take things a step further, you can use the built-in Roku remote on the Reelgood app, to control the content while you’re watching it. So you don’t need to find the Roku remote in your couch, or download the Roku app. You can do it all right there in the Reelgood Remote app.
Reelgood will be coming to more platforms in the future
According to the company, the Reelgood Remote app is going to support more platforms in the near future.
This includes LG TVs, Android TV and Fire TV. So it won’t be limited to just Roku TVs and set-top boxes, like it is right now.
The reason that Reelgood is going to be able to support these other platforms is because they have app-based remotes available too. So they can easily build the remote into the app and control it from there. Which is going to be very useful.
If you don’t already have a Roku, though, it’s definitely a good time to pick one up. There are a number of Roku’s that are discounted on Amazon right now, which makes it a great time to grab one. Now shipping is slightly delayed, due to the pandemic and Amazon shipping essential items before everything else. But it’ll still arrive before the end of the week, if you purchase it now.
There are Roku’s that range from about $30, up to around $90. So there’s something for everyone. And the majority of these support 4K HDR content as well, with Dolby Vision. Giving you a really good looking picture on your TV, through your tiny Roku set-top box or dongle.
