OnePlus 8T Pro Is Definitely Not Coming, It's Official

So, it’s official, the OnePlus 8T Pro will not launch alongside the 8T. In fact, the phone is not coming at all. This information comes from the company’s CEO himself, so there’s zero chance this phone will launch. This was actually suggested by a well-known tipster a while back.

The OnePlus 8T Pro definitely not coming alongside the 8T

The company’s CEO went to Weibo to confirm the news. He also mentioned that the company will continue to sell the OnePlus 8 Pro as “the king of the year”, which is a Google Translate translation of his words in Chinese, so keep that in mind.

Pete Lau said that the company really put extra effort into the OnePlus 8 Pro, and that there’s basically no room for upgrade at this point, hence no new ‘Pro’ model. The OnePlus 8T will be a great alternative to the OnePlus 8 series, though.

The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro got announced back in April this year. The OnePlus 8T will become official on October 14, so basically half a year after the OnePlus 8 series.

The OnePlus 8T will arrive alongside several other devices, it seems. We’ve seen several other OnePlus products rumored, while a well-known tipster confirmed yesterday that quite a few other products are coming.

The company’s very first smartwatch is also expected to launch

The company may announce its very first smartwatch during that event, alongside the OnePlus Buds Z. The smartwatch is expected to offer a round shape, while the Buds Z will be a cheaper variant of the OnePlus Buds. In other words, a new pair of TWS earbuds.

The OnePlus Power Bank was also rumored. That power bank is expected to offer the company’s fast charging, though those are only vague rumors for now.

In addition to those two products, OnePlus may opt to release a budget phone as well. Several budget devices were rumored, two fueled by the Snapdragon 600 series SoC, and one with the Snapdragon 460.

Something TV-related may get announced for India as well, though we’re only guessing. It remains to be seen. The OnePlus Watch and Buds Z are the most probable launches.

The OnePlus 8T will be made out of metal and glass, as the phone leaked recently. Its specifications also leaked on several occasions, so we pretty much know what to expect.

The phone will feature a flat display, unlike its siblings. It will include a display camera hole in the top-left corner, and an in-display fingerprint scanner. A 48-megapixel main camera will lead the rear-facing camera setup.

A large battery will also be a part of the package, along with the company’s 65W fast wired charging. Wireless charging will not be a part of the package, though.

Android 11 will come pre-installed on the device, along with the company’s OxygenOS 11 skin. If you’d like to know more about the device, check out our preview.
