Today, Samsung held its Fall Unpacked event, and there were a lot of rumors going into this event. But now we know exactly what’s coming this fall. Samsung Unpacked events are usually packed (pun intended) with new products. So we’re here to round up everything that Samsung announced today at Unpacked.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 was announced today, and it’s basically everything we expected. It still has a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, and under-the-hood it has the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. Samsung improved the cameras here, so we’re getting larger megapixels for brighter lenses and better pictures in low-light. Much like the Galaxy S22 announced earlier this year, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 is also getting four years of OS updates and five years of security updates.
Most importantly though, the Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a larger battery this year. It’s only 8% larger, jumping from 3400mAh to 3700mAh, but it is sorely needed.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 are now open, and if you pre-order, you’ll get double the storage for free, and a case. If you pre-order from Samsung’s website, you’ll get a $100 credit too.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
Despite many rumors about the price going up on the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Samsung was able to keep it at the same price. It’s still $1,799, which is fairly expensive, but remember this is a phone and tablet in one. So the price is understandable.
Samsung again, made lots of refinements on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The hinge is smaller, and the cameras have been upgraded quite a bit. There’s now a main sensor of 50-megapixel. Which is bigger and brighter, allowing you to get even better images out of this sensor.
Pre-orders are open for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, and many carriers are offering up to $1,000 off with trade-in or a new line. Samsung is also doing the double the storage promo here, and you get a free case.
Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro
The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro were also announced at Unpacked today, as a follow up to the Galaxy Buds Pro that were released in January 2021. This year, the Buds 2 Pro feature ANC, and it can last about five hours on a charge, or you can turn it off and get about eight hours of continuous playback.
Samsung made the Buds 2 Pro compatible with 24-bit HiFi sound. There’s also enhanced 360 audio with multi-channel support. Samsung has also added some new hearing modes. Like the Ambient Mode, which will use your Buds 2 Pro’s mics to let you hear the noise going on outside. It’s a great mode to have on if you need to talk to someone around you.
Pre-orders are open for the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro right now, they are priced at $229 but you can trade in your current buds and get up to $75 in credit towards your new Buds 2 Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Series
The Galaxy Watch series gets even larger this year. We have the Galaxy Watch 5 which comes in 40mm and 44mm, but Samsung is also launching a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which is more of a rugged smartwatch from the company, and it’s massive at 45mm.
The Galaxy Watch 5 series gets a much larger battery, about 15% across the board. Though the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro does get the biggest battery ever and can last around 80 hours on a charge.
Samsung has added a skin sensor to the Galaxy Watch 5, which makes it the ultimate health device on your wrist.
Now the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is a rugged smartwatch from Samsung, and it’s made for runners. It’s almost a competitor to the Garmin watches. It also has a new route workout experience, which can give you directions with voice and vibrations. So you won’t get lost.
The entire Galaxy Watch 5 series is up for pre-order now.
