JBL has announced a number of products at CES 2023 thus far, while it also featured some existing products too. One such product is a pair of true wireless earbuds with a touchscreen case. The product is called the JBL Tour Pro 2, and the company refers to this case as “The world’s first smart charging case”. These earbuds did get initially announced in August last year.
These JBL earbuds come with a touchscreen on the case
Needless to say, that case is the most interesting aspect of these earbuds. We don’t exactly see that every day, that’s for sure. As you can see in the provided image, this case literally has a touchscreen on the side.
We’re looking at a 1.45-inch LED display here. You can use it to control both the music and calls. That’s not all, though, you can also check out your notifications for messages and social apps here.
Why would you use your earbuds case for all that when you can use your phone? Well, the case is smaller, and it’s more convenient to pull out of your pocket. That’s probably JBL’s thinking here.
They come with flagship-level audio and features
Now, the earbuds themselves are not bad at all. These are basically flagship-level true wireless earbuds. They come with adaptive ANC (Active Noise Cancelation), and ambient sound mode with 10mm drivers.
Spatial audio is also a part of the package, as is JBL’s ‘Pro sound’. Personi-fi 2.0 allows you to customize your audio profile, and these earbuds can test the ear fit for you.
The battery life is excellent
The battery life is also not bad with these, not at all. JBL promises up to 8 hours of use with ANC on, and 10 with it off, for the earbuds alone. The case itself can provide you with three full charges, so you can basically get around 32 hours with ANC on, and 40 with it off, in total.
Quick charging is also thrown into the mix. JBL says that you can get four hours of use after just 15 minutes of charging. Six microphones are on board, with JBL’s VoiceAware technology.
The JBL Tour Pro 2 earbuds are definitely not cheap
On top of everything, these earbuds are IPX5 rated, so you can take them to the gym without a problem. The JBL Tour Pro 2 are coming this Spring, in black and champagne colors. They will be priced at $249.95.
