Amazon's professional AI image generator is getting the V2 upgrade

Amazon is one of the big names that jumped on the AI-powered services bandwagon. The company offers useful tools for both normal users and brands. Now, Amazon has upgraded its own AI image generator with more capabilities and editing possibilities.

Officially known as Amazon Titan Image Generator, the service is receiving its V2 upgrade. This is one of those tools designed for professional use by other companies. Its main goal is to generate professional-quality marketing images. However, it does not resort to stock images or content available on the web. Instead, the Titan Image Generator relies on the company’s own content.

So, companies can train the tool with their own logos, images, and products. This helps to obtain usable results more easily, reducing “bizarre” images. While the V1 was already like this, the V2 upgrade allows the user to be much more specific regarding image generation. For example, it is capable of segmenting a generated image to request edits or modifications only in those specific areas.

Like other AI image generators, the output will be based primarily on a text prompt. However, the tool allows the user to complement the text with images to obtain results as accurately as possible. There’s also a “subject consistency tool” that allows you to request images around a specific theme. The theme can be an object, a scene, a person, an animal, etc.

Channy Yun, a Principal Developer Advocate for AWS cloud, said that the Amazon upgraded image generator allows you to “use reference images, edit existing visuals, remove backgrounds, generate image variations, and securely customize the model to maintain brand style and subject consistency.”

Currently, the improved tool has limited availability. Only people in the US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) AWS Regions can access it through Amazon Bedrock. If you’re not aware, Bedrock is a platform that makes AI app development easier by offering access to a set of powerful models. However, the company will provide more details on a broader rollout “soon.”
