The Galaxy S23 & Galaxy S23+ are the same, but different.

Samsung announced three smartphones as part of the Galaxy S23 family, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra. The vanilla and 'Plus' models are extremely similar, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra stands apart. That's why we're covering these two phones at the same time. These two phones do look the same, but they're different in terms of size. Both smartphones are made put of metal and glass, and both have a flat front and back sides. Their frame is not exactly flat, though, it has a slight curve to it which you'll notice the moment you grab the devices.

You'll notice that both devices also include a centered display camera hole and thin bezels. Three cameras sit in the top-left corner on their backs, and they're equal across these two phones, exactly the same. The 'Plus' model does come with a larger 6.6-inch display, compared to a 6.1-inch panel on the vanilla version. The resolution is the same, though, it's 2340 x 1080. These are AMOLED displays. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm fuels both of these smartphones, globally. There is no Exynos chip to talk about here.

In addition to the difference in displays, they also come in different storage options. UFS 4.0 flash storage is used too, but not in the base 128GB storage model of the Galaxy S23. The smaller phone also has a smaller battery and slower wired charging. Everything else is basically identical between them. Yes, you're getting wired and wireless charging on both, and the same goes for reverse wireless charging.

Both of these phones are IP68 certified. In other words, they're water and dust resistant. A 50-megapixel main camera is backed by a 12-megapixel ultrawide unit, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera on both devices. Stereo speakers are also included in the package, and both phones ship with Android 13 out of the box. Samsung did promise 4 major Android upgrades for both devices, in addition to 5 years' worth of security support. It is worth noting that the Galaxy S23 is considerably smaller and lighter in comparison, a true compact smartphone.
