Meizu is currently one of the fastest-growing smartphones OEMs in the world. The company has managed to sell 8.9 million smartphones in the first half of this year, which might not seem a lot compared to Samsung, for example, but represents a 540% increase for Meizu (compared to H1 2014). That being said, Meizu has already released a number of devices this year, including their MX5 flagship, but the company intends to release yet another flagship smartphone on September 23rd. Meizu has already sent out invites for this event which will be held in China, and the company’s co-founder has confirmed that the device will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p display. The device will allegedly ship in both 3 and 4GB variants, and a 21-megapixel camera will be available on the back of this device. Meizu has also confirmed that the new version of their Android-based Flyme OS will come pre-installed on this smartphone, the Flyme 5 which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop it seems.
