OnePlus has already launched two smartphones in 2015, along with a few other products (including a Sandstone case for the iPhone). And now it looks like the company is preparing another smartphone. Now this likely won’t be launched this year, considering we’re two weeks away from 2016. But we’re looking at a 4.6-inch device from OnePlus that has been benchmarked on GFX Bench. It’s important to stress that this should be taken with a grain of salt. Many devices show up on GFX Bench that never actually make it into reality. Companies have many prototypes they are working on and benchmarking them is part of the process.
Having said that, this device appears to be specced pretty close to the OnePlus 2, so this could be a OnePlus 2 Mini – a device even smaller than the OnePlus X. We’re looking at a 4.6-inch 1920×1080 resolution display here. It’s also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. A few interesting specs include 4GB of RAM (the benchmark quotes 3.6GB, but the rest is likely used by the system) as well as 64GB of storage on board. So this isn’t just going to be a cheap, and small smartphone. But a pretty high-end smartphone that’s small. Something that many people have been looking for, for a while. On the camera side, we’re looking at a 12MP camera on the back that is capable of 4K, as well as a 5MP front-facing camera.
Seeing as this is just a benchmark for now, there’s no word on naming or pricing and other specs and features. However it is looking to be a pretty nice smartphone from OnePlus. This likely won’t be announced until Q2 2016 (just based on how long it normally is between first benchmarks and release), and with the OnePlus 2 having recently gone invite-free forever, it’s not too surprising to see another device coming up pretty soon. As soon as we learn more about this mysterious OnePlus device – we’re guessing a OnePlus 2 Mini – we’ll be sure to bring you all of the details. But for now, you can check out the benchmark results down below, and also check the source for even more information.
