The Google Play Store is full of useful apps at this point, and the competition is fierce. Certain apps are more popular than others, of course, that’s just the way it is. Now, from time to time, a completely innovative app comes to the Play Store, and it’s very hard to find its alternative, and Prisma is actually a really great example of it, read on.
Prisma had landed in the Google Play Store last month, and it became instantly popular, mostly because both consumers and tech sites were already familiar with what this app can do considering it was available on iOS for a long time now, In any case, Prisma is an image processing app, and a rather unique one at that. Unlike regular filters which you can put on top of your images to make them look different, Prisma actually reworks the whole image from the ground up and it creates unique, artistic new images for you to use. Prisma was updated earlier this month with some new features and its general performance was also improved, which includes the time it takes to process a specific image. Well, according to a new report, Prisma might get yet another really cool feature soon. iOS version of the app received a rather interesting feature lately, the ability to process images while offline. Prisma actually requires an internet connection in order to function on Android (at the moment), it uploads an image to Prisma’s servers, runs algorithms, and then it downloads it back to your device. Prisma’s servers had issues handling the demand at first, which is why the processing was so slow, and it seems like the company is looking to offload its servers considerably, even though the processing time improved significantly, as already mentioned.
Prisma plans to bring the offline processing to Android as well, which would not only make the whole process faster, but would not require you to be connected to the internet in order to edit a specific image. The company did not say when will the update land on Android, but we’re guessing it will come really soon. Do keep in mind that you’ll be able to use only 16 filters offline when the update lands, but that will change in the near future as well.
