Arlo, a division of NETGEAR, has announced a new product today, in its Audio Doorbell which is actually a wire-free doorbell and it’s super simple to setup. Arlo made it so that users are able to install this on their home pretty simple, without needing to hire an electrician, which is needed for some other smart doorbells on the market right now.
The Arlo Audio Doorbell does feature all of the usual features you’d expect from a smart doorbell. That includes being able to use the Arlo app to see who’s at the door – whether they ring the doorbell or not. You’ll also be able to get notifications when there is activity in front of your door. This will work whether you are home or not. This is because there is a video camera built into the doorbell here, making it easy to see what’s going on from afar. Arlo touts that the Audio Doorbell is easy to install, and will replace the traditional push-button doorbells and will call the user’s mobile device when the button is pressed. There is two-way audio here, so that users are able to speak to who is at the door, even when they aren’t home.
Arlo is touting that pairing this new doorbell with its existing wire-free cameras makes it easy to keep an eye on your home – both inside and out. You could mount camera outside your home to get the angles or areas that the Audio Doorbell cannot see. Arlo also debuted the Arlo Chime today, which can be plugged in elsewhere in your home and when the doorbell button is pushed, it will ring like a traditional doorbell in that room.
