Neato Announces Botvac D4 and D6 Connected Robot Vacuums – IFA 2018

Keeping with their tradition of launching new products at the annual IFA technology trade show in Berlin, Neato is announcing two brand new connected robot vacuums today; the Neato Botvac D4 Connected, and the Neato Botvac D6 Connected. Both robot vacuums feature WiFi connectivity for remote operation and monitoring, and offer plenty of value when compared to many other vacuums on the market. Neato has been launching innovative robot vacuums for nearly a decade now, holding the title of launching one of the industry’s first Internet-connected robot vacuums with laser-guided (LIDAR) navigation and Simultaneous Location and Mapping (SLAM) back in September 2015.

The Neato Botvac D4 Connected is launching for 499USD/5499SEK/529EURO/479GBP and is available for order today, August 31, with shipments expected in September. This mid-range priced robot vacuum features tons of options that were once restricted to only the flagship Botvac D7 Connected, including QuickBoost cleaning and virtual N0-Go lines. QuickBoost helps the robot finish larger homes in less time when a recharge is required mid-clean by calculating the exact amount of time it normally takes to clean the home, as the robot won’t need to get a full charge before continuing on its cleaning cycle. The D4 Connected also features 33% better battery life than its predecessor too, meaning it’s a far more efficient machine overall.

Virtual No-Go lines are established within the app thanks to the laser-guided (LIDAR) navigation system, which isn’t available on many robot vacuums under this price range, and help keep the robot out of specific areas of the home. The Neato Botvac D6 Connected features all these things and more for 699USD/7499SEK/729EURO/649GBP, with the same release schedule as the D4 Connected. The D6 Connected features a core brush that’s 70% larger than most other robot vacuums, and is specifically designed for homes with pets and other large messes. This includes a turbo suction mode and an extra-performance filter, as well as a side-brush and the ability to clean multiple floors with the new multi-floorplan feature. Neato will also be launching a new Zone Cleaning feature for the flagship D7 Connected robot vacuum this Fall, allowing for cleaning of individual zones of the home through the app.
