Samsung has launched official leather covers for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Buds Live. Both these premium-looking covers are currently available only in South Korea. While the company is already selling the leather cover for the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the new one is a flip cover offering all-around protection.
Though there is no confirmation, the company should soon make them available in the global markets as well. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 leather flip cover is priced at KRW 99,000 (approx. $90) and comes in Brown and Black color options. Whereas the regular leather cover also comes in Green color options.
Official leather covers now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 & Galaxy Buds Live
Since the regular leather cover without the flap on the front costs $79.99, the leather flip cover might retail for more than $100 when it is officially launched in the US. It comes with a soft leather finish which offers a premium look to the $2000 smartphone.
The flap on the front not only protects the cover screen but can also wake up the display when opened. Like the regular leather cover, the flip cover doesn’t cover the physical buttons on the right side. The soft microfiber lining on the inside should help in securely holding your phone.
The Galaxy Buds Live case comes with cobblestone patterned texture
When using the foldable screen, the flip cover slightly extends outside the body on the left side. As the device comes with a glass back, the leather flip cover should also provide a better grip when using in both folded and unfolded modes.
Unlike the S-view flip cover, the leather flip cover for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 doesn’t allow to interact with the screen without opening the flap. With the Thom Browne Edition and Aston Martin Edition devices, Samsung also includes the regular leather case inside the box.
Speaking of the Galaxy Buds Live cover, it comes in Gray and Navy colors and features a cobblestone patterned texture. Samsung is using polycarbonate material inside the Galaxy Buds Live leather cover for extra durability. It will be retailing for KRW 22,000 (approx. $20) in South Korea.
Both the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Galaxy Buds Live will support wireless charging even with the cover on. However, the company’s website recommends removing the flip cover from the Galaxy Z Fold 2 before using Wireless PowerShare. It might be due to the impeccable heat that is generated while using reverse wireless charging.
