Samsung refreshes its Smart Monitor M8 with a new size

As part of its monitor announcements at CES 2022 this week, Samsung is revealing a new addition to its Smart Monitor M8 offering. This new version of the monitor comes with a 27-inch panel with 4K resolution, allowing for a slightly smaller monitor that saves space while still providing a big enough screen to work with.

Samsung already offers the Smart Monitor M8 in a 32-inch size for those that want something a little bigger. That being said, there are other reasons to consider this newer model. Just like the 32-inch, it comes in four colors. And although that won’t matter to every consumer, it will no doubt be a factor for those who like to match their decor as much as possible. These are the same four colors available for the 32-inch version. Which includes Warm White, Spring Green, Daylight Blue, and Sunset Pink.

It also comes with a built-in webcam and it supports VESA mounting. Though it does come with a pretty sleek height adjustable stand.

The new Smart Monitor M8 comes with Samsung Gaming Hub

This isn’t really designed to be a gaming monitor. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy playing games on it. Thanks to Samsung Gaming Hub. It comes on this monitor out of the box. Which means you can stream games from any number of supported services. GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Utomik, and Xbox Game Pass are all available.

Other apps like Netflix, YouTube, HBO Max etc. are available as well. Though that shouldn’t be a huge surprise as many of Samsung’s newest monitors come with these features. Additionally, Samsung has added Mouse Control to most of the “over-the-top apps” like Samsung SmartThings and Samsung Hub.

This will prevent you from having to use the remote for these things. The monitor does come with a remote though so that’s just as easily usable for those that prefer it.

In terms of cost, Samsung hasn’t mentioned pricing yet. Although it isn’t likely to cost more than $499, which is the price of the existing 32-inch model.
