Last month, a well-known tipster suggested that a new ‘Concept’ phone from OnePlus is coming at MWC 2023. The company just confirmed it. The ‘OnePlus 11 Concept’ will be presented at MWC 2023 in Barcelona.
OnePlus announced as much during its Cloud 11 event yesterday. During that event, the company had plenty to say. It announced the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 11R, OnePlus Pad, the first OnePlus keyboard, a new OnePlus TV, and the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 truly wireless earbuds.

As if that’s not enough, the company also confirmed that its foldable phone, or phones, will be coming in Q3 this year. On top of everything else, we also got this ‘Concept’ phone teaser.
OnePlus didn’t really say much about the device. At this point in time, we only know its name, and that it will have an “imaginative design”. It is expected to offer some sort of industry-first tech, as did the OnePlus Concept One back in the day.
The company was tight-lipped regarding the phone, so we can only guess what will it be. Considering that the OnePlus Concept One included a special electrochromic glass on the back, which covered the camera lenses, we wonder what will it be like this time.
This new concept will almost certainly be based on the OnePlus 11, hence its name. OnePlus will change something hardware-wise, to present it in a different light. It may implement leather on the back again, and on top of that an industry-first tech, as it did back in the day. On the flip side, it may be something completely different.

On the OnePlus Concept One, the electrochromic glass basically made the cameras disappear. When they’re not in use, the glass is entirely black, and you can’t see the sensors. When you activate the camera, the cameras appear, basically.
That phone did look really nice, and it presented something entirely new in the smartphone world. We expected OnePlus to implement it into a commercial device at some point, but that didn’t happen, unfortunately.
As a reminder, the MWC 2023 will kick off on February 27, and wrap up on March 2.
