This article will be regularly updated with new information on the Samsung Galaxy Note10 — both official teasers and credible leaks, rumors, and insider claims — as it becomes available in the run-up to the release of the upcoming Android smartphone. The last update was made on August 6.
Samsung is expected to announce two Galaxy Note10 flagships this time around, and that will be a first for the Galaxy Note series. If rumors are to be believed, those two phones will be called the Galaxy Note10 and the Galaxy Note10 Pro.
The Galaxy Note10 series is expected to arrive either on August 7 or August 10, it all depends on which rumor you want to put your faith in. The August 10 was mentioned as a release date on June 10, while a rumor regarding the August 7 came eight days later, on June 18. At the moment, the latter option seems to be more believable.
So, if either of those dates are accurate, we’re less than a month and a half away from the Galaxy Note10 series announcement, at least we were at the time of writing this article. The Galaxy Note10 series will represent a slight change in the design department compared to the Galaxy S10 series, at least based on leaks, which we’ve seen quite a bit thus far… so, let’s see what can we expect out of the upcoming Galaxy Note-branded flagships.
A boxier Galaxy S10 with different camera placements
Based on renders that were published by @OnLeaks in collaboration with 91mobiles and Pricebaba, the Galaxy Note10 and Galaxy Note10 Pro will actually be quite similar in terms of the design.
Both phones will be made out of metal and glass, and both will include razor-thin bezels above and below the display. Their side bezels will be barely noticeable, and the display will be curved. Both phones will be boxy, which means that their edges will not be as curved as they were on the Galaxy S10 series smartphones.
Unlike what we’ve seen on the Galaxy S10 series, a front-facing camera will not be located in the top-right corner of the phone’s display, but in the top-center spot, it will be centered in the middle of the display, but still at the very top of it. Unlike the Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 5G, the Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro will sport a single selfie camera on the front.
Rear-facing camera setup will also have a different placement than the Galaxy S10 series. The Galaxy Note10 will include three cameras on the back, while the Galaxy Note10 Pro will ship with four cameras, if you’re counting the ToF (Time-of-Flight) sensor which is rumored for the device.
Three main cameras will be vertically aligned on both phones, and will be placed in the top-left corner of their back sides, while an LED flash will sit right next to them, and the ToF camera will be located below it on the Galaxy Note10 Pro.
It is worth noting that a 3.5mm headphone jack was not included on the renders that surfaced, while rumors have been saying for quite some time now that the company is planning to ditch that audio port with the Galaxy Note10 series of devices.
“Pro” stands for a larger, but almost equally powerful device
The Galaxy Note10 Pro will not be that much more powerful than the Galaxy Note10, if at all. The two phones will have extremely similar specifications, and the main difference between the two phones will be noticeable in their size.
The Samsung Galaxy Note10 Pro will be larger than the Galaxy Note10. The device is rumored to sport a 6.75-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with curved sides, while the Galaxy Note10 will include a 6.3-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display which will also be curved. Those two displays will be practically the same in terms of quality, the only difference will be in their size.
Both devices will include an in-display fingerprint scanner, and that will be an upgraded ultrasonic unit from the Galaxy S10 series, most probably. The very same S Pen stylus will be included in both phones, and that stylus will be tucked away in the bottom-right portion of the device.
The company is expected to release both Exynos and Snapdragon variants of the device, the Exynos 9820 (or 9825, if some rumors are to be believed) will fuel the two devices in Europe and India, while the Snapdragon 855 will do the same in the US and China.
Both devices will arrive in several RAM and storage options. Rumors are claiming that the Galaxy Note10 will start at 6GB of RAM, and the more expensive variant will come with 8GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note10 Pro is rumored to start at 8GB of RAM, and include a second model with 12GB of RAM.
Stereo speakers are rumored to be a part of the package as well, while Android 9 Pie will come pre-installed on both phones with Samsung’s One UI skin. The Galaxy Note10 is expected to include a 4,100mAh battery, while the Galaxy Note10 Pro will ship with a larger unit, a 4,500mAh battery.
Those of you who are looking forward to expanding storage in your Galaxy Note10 unit, well, you may be forced to get the Pro model. A recent rumor suggests that a microSD card slot will be included in the Pro model only, for whatever reason.
It will offer a considerable charging speed improvement
Samsung managed to surprise quite a few people when it decided to stick with 15W wired charging on the Galaxy S10 series. The company has been using Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 for years at this point, and users are demanding faster wired charging… well, it seems like Samsung will deliver just that with the Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro.
The very first rumor that surfaced suggested that the two phones will ship with charging faster than 25W, while the second one managed to get people really excited as it mentioned 50W fast charging.
Well, it seems like Samsung is planning to include 45W charging in the end, at least as far as the Galaxy Note10 Pro is concerned, but it will ship with a 25W charger, so you will need to get a 45W charger separately. That is, at the very least, what the latest rumor has reported. The Galaxy Note10’s charging may be a bit slower, though it’s possible we’ll get the same charging speed in both devices.
Both phones will still offer wireless charging, in case you were wondering, and both are expected to support reverse wireless charging at all. It remains to be seen if Samsung plans to increase the speed of wireless and reverse wireless charging in the Galaxy Note10 series, as the Galaxy S10 series supports 15W wireless charging, and 9W reverse wireless charging.
We’re getting both 4G and 5G flavors this time around
Samsung is planning to release both the Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro in 4G and 5G flavors, which means that we’ll get four different smartphones, essentially. The Galaxy Note10 5G appeared in both Exynos and Snapdragon variants, with SM-N971 and SM-N976 model numbers.
The Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro variants are expected to come with SM-N970, SM-N975, SM-N971, and SM-N976 model numbers. 5G variants of the Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro will not be available everywhere, of course. Samsung will aim to launch those variants of the Galaxy Note10 only where 5G is available, and that will exclude a lot of countries from the get-go.
4G and 5G variants of the Galaxy Note10 series devices will be the same with the exception of 5G connectivity. Their specifications and the design will be completely identical, other than that, while the 5G models will be more expensive, of course.
Three-stage variable aperture
Samsung’s flagships have been rockin’ a two-stage variable aperture for a while now, and it seems like the company is looking to improve upon that with the Galaxy Note10 series. The Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro will seemingly include a three-stage variable aperture.
According to some info shared by Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, the Galaxy Note10 series will include f/1.5 / f/1.8 / f/2.4 variable aperture. This essentially means that the camera should be more adaptable to various lighting conditions, and that should result in better-balanced images in the end.
The Galaxy Note10 and Note10 Pro are rumored to include a single 16-megapixel, and two 12-megapixel cameras on the back. The main camera will ship with a wide-angle lens, while the other two will act as telephoto and ultrawide angle cameras. A selfie camera on the two phones is expected to be similar to the one included on the Galaxy S10, which means we may get a 10-megapixel unit.
Premium phones, premium price tags
The Samsung Galaxy Note10 will be more affordable than the Galaxy Note10 Pro, needless to say. That device is rumored to cost somewhere between $1,100 and $1,200 in the US. That information is based on a single, vague rumor that surfaced, so take it with a grain of salt, like all the other info that we’ve shared.
If you’re wondering about the Galaxy Note10 Pro’s price tag, well, we did not get a single piece of info just yet. The device may cost around $1,300 in the US, though, if we had to guess, but it remains to be seen what will happen in that regard.

On that same day, Evan Blass first released a piece of info, then retracted it. The tipster first said that only the Verizon unit will be fueled by a Snapdragon processor in the US, while all others will ship with the Exynos 9825, but that won’t be the case after all, it seems. According to Mr. Blass, all US units will ship with the Snapdragon 855.
